Chennai, Jan. 4 -- Producer Naga Vamsi has confirmed that the proposed sequel to "Kingdom", starring Vijay Deverakonda, has been quietly shelved in the wake of the film's muted box-office response.
Directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, "Kingdom" hit theatres in July 2025 and was clearly designed with a larger franchise in mind. Deverakonda headlined the film as Suri, a constable who transitions into the covert world of espionage. Despite the scale and ambition behind the film, audience turnout and commercial response remained underwhelming, reports Bollywood Hungama.
