Kolkata, May 4 -- On the eve of the poll counting day in West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of the opposition and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Bhabanipur and Nandigram, today claimed that counting officers were disclosing details of their duties including location, specific duty details and designations to their "organisations and associations" on a post that was shared in his X (formerly Twitter handle).

In his post, Adhikari alleged that spreadsheets and lists were circulating among such groups, with officers either "voluntarily or under pressure" providing their "election duty information".

Adhikari described the situation as a "grave violation" of established election protocols.
