Kolkata, Oct. 12 -- The West Bengal government has issued a strict set of guidelines regulating foreign travel by government employees.
The new directive, issued by chief secretary Manoj Pant, makes it clear that no official will be allowed to undertake or arrange any kind of foreign travel whether for personal reasons, on Leave Travel Concession (LTC), or for official assignments without prior approval from the competent authority.
According to a recent notification from Nabanna, the state secretariat, the government has observed that some officials in various departments have been making travel-related bookings such as flight tickets and hotel reservations before receiving the required administrative clearance.
