Kolkata, July 10 -- In a significant development to boost the retail sector in the state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said today that the state government has taken the initiative to construct a shopping mall in each district of the state.
This she announced while inaugurating the leather and cottage industry centre - 'Shilpanna' at Alipore in South Kolkata.
"The state government has taken an initiative to build shopping malls in the headquarters of all 23 districts. The state government will arrange the land for these malls and it will be provided for just one rupee," the chief minister said.
