Nagpur, Jan. 2 -- With the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections scheduled on January 15, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is witnessing internal unrest following a series of resignations by party workers.
The development is likely to weaken the party's grassroots network, feel observers.
According to sources, over 80 BJP workers from Prabhag 16(d) in Nagpur have quit the party so far and more resignations from other areas are expected in the coming days.
Confirming the development, former Prabhag BJP president Gajanan Nishitkar said that at least 80 workers, including 45 office-bearers, have resigned.
