Bengaluru, May 19 -- Severe waterlogging brought life to a standstill in several parts of Bengaluru following one of the city's heaviest rainfalls this year, with Sai Layout among the worst affected.
Residents, on Monday, reported inundated homes, soaked household items, and partially submerged vehicles after the area received nearly 40 mm of rain in 24 hours.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru recorded 10.3 mm of rainfall till Monday morning, with wind speeds reaching up to 50 kmph in isolated areas. Heavier spells of rain are expected on May 23, with the week ahead forecast to remain wet and unsettled.
