Shimla, Oct. 4 -- Ahead of the rain in the mountains from today evening, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has issued an alert for water release from Pong Dam.
According to the BBMB, 82,000 cusecs of water will be released at 12 noon today and 50,000 cusecs will be released from the powerhouse turbine and 32,000 cusecs from the spillway gates. This will increase the water level of the Beas river. People living along the Beas River in Indora-Fatehpur and Punjab have been asked to remain vigilant.
