Imphal, June 5 -- Water levels of the major rivers in the state have slightly receded; however, waterlogging in residential and office areas continued.

Over 1.7 lakh people have been affected by the flood, and a person died as flood affected life in Manipur for a week, and affected people were kept at about 80 relief centres.

About 706 villages have been affected,36000 houses washed away by the flood, and about 160 landslides cut off roads and communications. Many Hospitals, including the main state referral hospital, the JNIMS have been closed down.

The affected areas continue to reel under complete darkness as the power supply remains suspended.
