Mumbai, June 16 -- A day after four people died and 50 suffered injuries when an iron bridge over the Indrayani river collapsed with over 150 tourists on it in Pune's Kundmala, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday lamented that many tourists ignored warnings about the weak bridge, which led to the fatal accident.
The Chief Minister stressed the need to learn from this incident to prevent future occurrences. The CM said the district collector had previously declared the bridge dangerous, and villagers had even put up warning signs about its unsafe condition.
