New Delhi, April 4 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday described the passage of Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, by Parliament as "historic" and said that it will put an end to "injustice and corruption".

He said that through this bill, the "Waqf Board and the Waqf properties" will be more "accountable, transparent and equitable".

In a post on X, Shah said, "Today is a historic day, when the Parliament has approved the 'Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025', ending the era of years of injustice and corruption and ushering in an era of justice and equality."
