Srinagar, Sept. 27 -- Director General of Police Ladakh SD Singh Jamwal today said that a Pakistani PIO arrested recently from the region was in touch with climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and was reporting his activities across the border.
Wangchuk, arrested yesterday under the stringent National Security Act (NSA), is accused of instigating unrest during Wednesday's violent protests in Leh that left four people dead and dozens injured.
The DGP alleged that Wangchuk has been "provoking" people "over a period of time.""He talked about the Arab Spring, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He has his own agenda," Jamwal said, adding that his alleged foreign funding is also under investigation.
