Hyderabad, July 21 -- CPI(M) Politburo member B V Raghavulu paid rich tributes to veteran communist leader and former Kerala Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, describing him as an "unrivalled great leader" in Indian politics and a symbol of uncompromising ideological commitment.
Raghavulu garlanded Achuthanandan's portrait at a condolence meeting held at the CPI(M) state office, MB Bhavan, in Hyderabad on Monday evening.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Achuthanandan's demise was an irreparable loss to the party and the country's Left movement. "The best way to pay tribute to him is to follow his ideals and continue his fight," he said.
