Shillong, Sept. 25 -- The Voice of the People Party (VPP) today unanimously nominated Winston Tony Lyngdoh as the new Chief Executive Member (CEM) designate of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
Lyngdoh's nomination to the constitutional post came a day after Shemborlang Rynjah resigned as CEM on health grounds.
VPP supremo Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit said Lyngdoh was unanimously nominated for the post since he was part of the previous Executive Committee (EC).
"He understands how the party and the EC functions. Therefore, the party wants continuity in the initiatives taken by the previous dispensation," Basaiawmoit said.
The VPP also nominated Denzil Raynard Chen as the Executive Member of the KHADC.
