New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 23 -- Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy today demanded that the post of Vice President of India be given to someone from Telangana, calling it a long-overdue recognition for the state and its contribution to national politics.

Speaking to reporters at his official residence in Delhi, the Chief Minister reacted to the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, describing it as unfortunate. While refraining from speculating on the reasons behind the resignation, he said the development has created an opportunity to correct historical imbalances.
