Chennai, Oct. 30 -- Vice President C P Radhakrishnan led the Nation in paying glowinrtributes to freedom fighter Muthuramalinga at his native Pasumpon village in the southernRamanathapuram district, even several leaders including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister andDMK President and Opposition AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswamialso paid tributes and batted for conferring the country's highest civilian honour BharatRatna on the occasion of his 118th Jayanthi celebrations.
Mr Radhakrishnan reached Pasumpon from Madurai and paid floral tributes at his memorial.
Later, he recalled the services rendered by the legendary Thevar for the welfare of thedowntrodden and his contributions during the freedom struggle.
