Mumbai, Jan. 15 -- Voting was delayed at several polling booths in the state after alleged technical glitches in electronic voting machines (EVMs), with candidates and voters claiming that polling did not begin on time.

According to their complaints, at least one hour of polling time was lost due to these malfunctions.

Election officials usually conduct multiple rounds of checks and trials before installing voting machines at polling stations. However, despite these procedures, the machines reportedly failed to function during the initial hours, leading to a delay in the voting process.
