Ahilyanagar, Aug. 9 -- Following Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent accusation that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission colluded to steal votes, senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat has alleged similar irregularities in the Shirdi Assembly constituency.

Thorat claimed that the number of voters in the constituency was "increased by thousands".

He said that a complaint had already been lodged with the Election Commission and an appeal made to halt such practices in time, but no action was taken. "Now that Rahul Gandhi has made allegations with evidence, the Election Commission must respond to his questions," Thorat asserted.
