Chandigarh, Dec. 2 -- A group of volunteers in Fazilka's Jalalabad town joined hands with the police to curb recurring incidents of alleged harassment reported outside a local government school.

The action came after several students complained that young men frequently loitered near the school, made comments, and even attempted to hand out slips carrying their phone numbers.

During a routine police checkpoint near the school, a few of these youths again approached female students with handwritten contact slips.

Volunteers, accompanying the police, immediately intervened and detained the individuals. In a public reprimand aimed at deterring future misconduct, the youths were made to apologise and were forced to perform a humiliating act ...
