Madrid, May 10 -- Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez) retained her La Vuelta Femenina (Women's Tour of Spain) title in style on Saturday, winning the last stage of the race to confirm her position at the top of the overall classification.

The 2024 champion assured this year's title when she rode off the front of an elite group of riders one kilometer from the finish at the top of the tough Alto de Cotobello to win the demanding 152.6-kilometer stage, which contained three mountains, and confirming her dominance as the best climber in the race.
