Kolkata, Sept. 2 -- Director of "The Bengal Files", Vivek Agnihotri today appealed to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee not to ban his film and allowed it to be screened in the theaters and cinema halls in the state.
"I appeal to you with folded hands to please ensure the peaceful release of his film, 'The Bengal Files'," the Bollywood director posted in a video clip seeking attention of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The movie is set to be released country-wide on September 5.
Agnihotri during his appeal in Hindi said the theater and cinema hall owners have been scared to release the movie fearing backlash following political pressure not to screen the film.
