Visakhapatnam, March 25 -- Doctors at KIMS Hospitals, Seethammadhara, in the city have performed a minimally invasive procedure to clear critical blockages in the brain arteries of a 65-year-old man at high risk of a life-threatening stroke.
The patient, who had been experiencing recurrent giddiness for nearly a month, later developed sudden weakness on one side of the body and was referred to KIMS for advanced care, the hospitals said in a release here on Wednesday.
Doctors said investigations revealed severe blockages in the vertebral and basilar arteries, which supply blood to the brainstem, posing a high risk of a major stroke if left untreated.
