Paris, Dec. 4 -- A fresh cinematic pulse is being injected into Victor Hugo's legendary tale as Vincent Lindon and Tahar Rahim headline Fred Cavaye's forthcoming adaptation of Les Miserables.
Studiocanal has unveiled the first-look images, heralding what is poised to be one of the most high-profile literary adaptations to emerge from France in recent years, reports DEADLINE.
Lindon stars as Jean Valjean, the hero of Victor Hugo's 1862 classic novel, who transforms from a hardened ex-convict and parole breaker to a benevolent industrialist. Rahim (Madame Web, Monsieur Aznavour) plays his nemesis Inspector Javert, who becomes obsessed with tracking him down.
