Ranchi, March 30 -- Suspended IAS officer Vinay Choubey was granted default bail by a special Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court here in a disproportionate assets case after the chargesheet was not filed within the stipulated period.

Court sources said Choubey had moved the court seeking statutory relief on the ground that the investigating agency had failed to submit the chargesheet within the prescribed time.

He had earlier secured default bail in the alleged liquor scam case as well after the chargesheet was not filed within time.
