Shimla, May 29 -- The Himachal Pradesh High Court on Thursday extended the interim protection granted to IAS officer Harikesh Meena, an accused in the mysterious death case of Vimal Negi.
The development came during the hearing of the bail application, where the court took note of the recent transfer of the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The case, which has drawn significant public attention, pertains to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Vimal Negi.
Earlier, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was probing the matter, but following a judgment dated May 23, 2025,,m( in CWP No.6508 of 2025, ) the Himachal Pradesh High Court ordered the investigation to be handed over to the CBI.
