Shillong, July 15 -- Villagers residing in more than five dozen villages along the northern periphery of Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya on Tuesday sought the intervention of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on the extremely poor mobile network services provided by Bharti Airtel.

The villagers requested the Chief Minister to speak to Sunil Bharti Mittal, the owner of Bharti Airtel, since the poor telecommunication activity directly impacts the welfare and digital inclusion of a large tribal population.
