Mandi, Sept. 1 -- At a time when heavy rains and landslides have brought life to a standstill in this district, villagers of Janjehli development block have scripted an inspiring story of resilience and unity. With no help arriving from the administration, residents of Halan and Bhanbas villages came together and constructed a wooden bridge across the overflowing local river to restore vital connectivity.

The makeshift bridge, built with the support of the Gram Panchayat and the voluntary cooperation of every household, now serves as a lifeline for people cut off due to the fury of monsoon. For days, villagers struggled to cross the river that had swelled dangerously after continuous rainfall.
