Chennai, July 4 -- Actor-turned politician Vijay will be Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)'s the Chief Ministerial candidate in the 2026 assembly elections. A resolution to this effect was passed at the TVK's General Council meeting, chaired by Vijay, at suburban Panaiyur here today. With this, the TVK has made it clear that it is not prepared to play second fiddle to any other party though it remains open to alliance with other parties. Another resolution empowered Vijay, the founder president of the party to take decisions pertaining to the alliance.
