Chennai, March 28 -- With the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly election preparations and campaign strategies gaining pace, actor-turned-neta and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) Founder-President Vijay, who was scheduled to launch his electioneering for the polls from Chennai today (Saturday) was forced to defer it after the police, which had given the nod earlier, has cancelled the permission at the last minute.

Vijay was to have launched his election campaign from Perambur--from which he is likely to contest in TVK's maiden electoral foray--marking his first major outreach ahead of the polls.
