Puducherry, April 4 -- The nascent Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder leader and actor-turned politician Vijay on Saturday assured the people of the union Territory that he will strive hard to get Statehood status for Puducherry where there will be no intervention of the Lt.Governor.
Making a slew of promises while campaigning at Thattanchavady here for the April 9 elections, Vijay, appealing to the people to give one chance for his party to govern, he said if his party was voted to power, local body elections would be conducted within six months of forming the government.
