New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- TVK chief and Tamil film star Vijay has left for Chennai on Tuesday after appearing before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Karur stampede case.

The actor maintained a low profile while leaving the national capital and refrained from speaking to the media.

Vijay had arrived at the CBI headquarters on Monday morning, where investigators questioned him about the deadly stampede that occurred during a public rally in Karur on September 27 last year. The tragedy left 41 people dead and around 100 others injured.

The inquiry focused on several key issues, including delays in Vijay's arrival at the event, which allegedly stretched to seven hours, and possible lapses in crowd management.
