Electing to bat first, Karnataka were propelled by a masterful innings from Agarwal, who scored 132 off 124 balls, including 15 fours and 2 sixes. He shared a record-breaking 228-run opening stand with Devdutt Padikkal, who also scored a brilliant 113, anchoring Karnataka's innings for nearly 38 overs.
