Bengaluru, Sept. 10 -- Defence expert GJ Singh today cautioned that India's porous border with Nepal could allow infiltration by anti-social elements and terrorists, warning that vigilance and preparedness are crucial as the Himalayan nation sinks deeper into political turmoil.

"India shares a 1,750-km border with Nepal, and Uttar Pradesh alone accounts for about 650 km. While India is a strong democracy with 76-77 years of uninterrupted functioning and may not be directly affected by Nepal's unrest, the porous border creates a real possibility of unwanted elements slipping in to instigate our youth," Singh told UNI in an interview.
