Chandigarh, Oct. 27 -- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) today arrested Jatinder Singh, a security guard posted at the Civil Hospital in Baba Bakala Sahib, Amritsar district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 in exchange for issuing a negative dope test certificate required for an arms licence.
According to an official spokesperson, the arrest was made following a complaint filed by Resham Singh, who accused the guard of demanding money for facilitating the certificate. After verifying the complaint, a VB Flying Squad team laid a trap and caught Jatinder Singh red-handed while receiving the bribe in the presence of two independent witnesses.
