Hanoi, July 30 -- In its bid to tackle environmental pollution and promote green energy, Vietnam has planned to install electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at parking lots in Hanoi, as the Southeast Asian nation prepares to ban gasoline-powered motorbikes inside Ring Road 1 starting July 2026, Vietnam News Agency reported today.
Nguyen Duc Vinh, deputy director of the Hanoi Parking Company, said that about 40 out of more than 150 parking lots managed by the company have been identified as suitable for EV charging station installation.
