Hanoi, June 5 -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday called for intensified efforts in the ongoing nationwide crackdown on smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and violations of intellectual property rights, Vietnam News Agency reported.

He emphasised the need for authorities to promptly detect and strictly handle violators, while also taking disciplinary action against officials, public servants and law enforcement officers who show signs of corruption or collusion with offenders.

Since May 15, the Ministry of Public Security has launched legal proceedings in 36 trade fraud cases involving 119 individuals.
