Ranchi, March 28 -- Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan on Saturday paid tribute to Bhagwan Birsa Munda at Ulihatu in Khunti district during his first visit to Jharkhand after assuming office.
He visited the birthplace of Birsa Munda and offered floral tributes at his statue. The Vice-President also interacted with the descendants of the tribal freedom fighter.
Later, he paid homage at Birsa Munda's statue at Birsa Chowk in Ranchi.
Radhakrishnan was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival at Birsa Munda Airport, where he was received by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and other dignitaries.
