Ananya DasguptaNew Delhi, Nov. 25 -- Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international president Alok Kumar has said the organisation will intensify campaigns to "take back temples from government control," curb "fraudulent conversions," and mobilise Hindus globally, even as the Ram Mandir nears completion.

Speaking to UNI, Kumar said the construction of the Ayodhya temple was "not the original mission" of the VHP, but one of its major projects.

The organisation's larger goal, he said, was to "erect a temple in the hearts of all Hindus" and promote a way of life based on Dharma, Sanskrit, Vedas and cow protection. Kumar announced that in 2025 the VHP would meet chief ministers across states to press for ending government control of temples.
