Bengaluru, Aug. 8 -- The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today condemned what it termed a "deliberate conspiracy" to tarnish the reputation and sanctity of the Dharmasthala temple, calling such attempts an "unpardonable offence."
In a joint statement issued by VHP Karnataka state president Deepak Raj Gopal and former state president Dr M B Puranik, the organisation said Dharmasthala, home to the famous Sri Manjunatha Swamy temple, is one of India's most revered religious centres, attracting millions of devotees from across the world every year.
For decades, the temple has been a hub for spiritual, charitable, and cultural activities, including restoring other temples and offering free food and education, said the VHP leaders.
