Kochi, Dec. 20 -- Renowned Malayalam actor, screenwriter, director, and producer Sreenivasan passed away early Saturday at a private hospital in Thrippunithura near here following a prolonged illness.
He was 69. His condition reportedly worsened while he was being taken for medical treatment. He breathed his last at the hospital.
A towering presence in Malayalam cinema for nearly five decades, Sreenivasan was celebrated for his sharp wit, realistic storytelling, and incisive social satire.
Born on April 6, 1956, in Patyam near Thalassery, he entered the film industry in the late 1970s and went on to become one of Kerala's most influential cinematic voices.
