Patna, Oct. 30 -- Veteran leader Dularchand Yadav was shot dead today in the Ghoswari area of Mokama Assembly constituency in Patna district.
Yadav had been actively supporting Piyush Priyadarshi, the Jan Suraj candidate from Mokama.
The shocking killing, barely a week before the Bihar Assembly elections, has heightened political tensions in Mokama, where NDA candidate and strongman Anant Singh is contesting against RJD candidate Veena Devi, the wife of another muscleman, Surajbhan Singh.
The incident has attracted sharp reaction from RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav who accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ignoring the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar under the NDA rule.
