Mumbai, March 26 -- Maharashtra has lost one of its most dedicated historians with the passing of Dr Jaysingrao Pawar, who devoted over five decades to documenting and preserving Maratha history.
He breathed his last on Thursday, leaving behind a rich legacy of scholarly work and historical research.
Driven by the belief that "history enlightens a nation and its society," Dr Pawar spent nearly 50 years contributing to Maharashtra's historical literature.
His work ranged from the acclaimed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Memorial Volume to detailed research on lesser-recognized yet valiant figures such as Maharani Tarabai, Rajaram Maharaj and Senapati Santaji Ghorpade.
