Chennai, April 9 -- Tens and hundreds of people bade a tearful adieu, as the mortal
remains of veteran Congress leader and former TNCC President Kumari Ananthan was
cremated on Wednesday evening with full State honours.
Mr Ananthan, 93, died at a private hospital early today, due to old age-related issues
and his body was taken to the residence of his daughter and former Telangana Governor
Tamilisai Soundararajan to enable the public to pay their homage.
After a host of leaders including Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi, Chief Minister M K Stalin
and leaders of various political parties paid their last respects, the final journey of Mr Ananthan
began from Tamilisai's Valasaravakkam and taken to Vadapalani crematorium where it was
