Patna, Aug. 3 -- Veteran Congress leader and former Minister Ashok Ram today joined JD(U), ahead of Bihar assembly elections slated for October-November this year.

Ram who has been MLA for six terms and member of Congress Working Committee (CWC) , along with his supporters, accepted the membership from national working president of JD(U) Sanjay Jha at a function organised here in state headquarters of the party.

Jha while welcoming Ram in his party, said that senior leader like him had left the Congress which clearly indicated the fact that party was losing its base in Bihar.
