New Delhi, Sept. 30 -- Senior BJP leader and veteran politician Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra passed away early today in New Delhi. He was 93.
A former Member of Parliament and a prominent figure in the BJP, Malhotra had been undergoing treatment at AIIMS for the past few days. He breathed his last around 6 am.
"With deep sorrow, we inform you that senior BJP leader and the first president of the Delhi BJP, Professor Vijay Kumar Malhotra, passed away this morning," Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said in a statement.
Sachdeva visited the veteran leader's residence this morning to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
President Droupadi Murmu also arrived at Malhotra's home to pay her respects.
