New Delhi, Oct. 5 -- Veteran actress Sandhya Shantaram, known for her iconic roles in both Hindi and Marathi cinema, passed away in Mumbai. She was the wife of legendary actor and filmmaker V. Shantaram.
She was 94. Sandhya was celebrated for her performances in classic films such as Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje (1955), Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1958), Navrang (1959), the Marathi hit Pinjra (1972), and Amar Bhoopali.
Her remarkable dance and acting skills left an enduring legacy in Indian cinema, especially during the 1950s and 60s when she worked extensively under the direction of V. Shantaram.
