Bengaluru, Dec. 7 -- The winds of change swept through Karnataka cricket on Sunday as former India fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad stormed to victory in the fiercely contested Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) elections, ending years of dominance by the Brijesh Patel-backed establishment.

Prasad, leading the Team Game Changers panel, defeated KN Shanth Kumar by a commanding margin in what insiders described as a referendum on the association's credibility and governance. Prasad polled 749 votes to Shanth Kumar's 588, signalling a decisive mandate for upheaval in an administration long accused of opacity and stagnation.
