Caracas, Oct. 25 -- Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro has accused the US of "fabricating a new war", after it ordered the deployment of its largest warship - the USS Gerald Ford aircraft carrier - in the Caribbean Sea.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly accused Maduro of leading a drug-trafficking syndicate and maintaining close ties with cartel members - allegations that Maduro has consistently denied.

However, the recent military buildup has raised alarm in Caracas, igniting fear among officials that the whole deployment is in fact aimed towards Maduro's ouster from power, owing to his strong opposition to the Trump administration, reports BBC.
