Chengdu, Aug. 6 -- Venezuela opened its men's softball campaign at The World Games 2025 with a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Argentina on Wednesday, thanks to a clutch two-run homer by infielder Pedro Flores in the final inning.

The action took place under intense heat on the first competition day of the Games in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The challenging conditions took a toll, with one technical official collapsing from heat exhaustion during the afternoon game.

Venezuela struggled to find their rhythm for most of the contest, but a towering shot to center field by Flores in the final inning turned the tide.
