Chennai, March 13 -- The much awaited passenger train services on the elevated Velachery-St Thomas Mount Phase-II MRTS (Mass Rapid Transit System) rail section would be commissioned tomorrow.
Southern Railway officials on Friday said the Chennai Division of Southern Railway has received the provisional authorisation certificate from the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) for the commissioning of the Velachery - St. Thomas Mount Phase-II section of the MRTS.
Following the CCRS authorisation, the Railway Administration has completed all necessary compliance works and is fully prepared to commence train services on this important suburban rail extension tomorrow, throwig open the section for passenger services.
