Bhubaneswar, May 19 -- Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal has stated that India has the opportunity to position itself as a global aluminium hub in the ongoing global trade tension.

In his post on Monday, Agarwal said the global metals market is undergoing significant disruption, with the United States imposing a steep 25 per cent tariff on steel and aluminium imports from all countries, including close allies such as Canada and Mexico.

In response, India has implemented a 12 percent safeguard duty on steel imports to protect its domestic industry.
